New director for the Center for Neuroscience Research joins staff in September 2020


Haydar thinks of translational research as a two-way stream of skills from the bench to the bedside

WASHINGTON –Tarik F. Haydar, Ph.D., an award-profitable neurobiologist whose research teases out how brain progress differs in persons with typical cognitive function when compared with persons with developmental disabilities, like Down syndrome, has been named incoming Director of the Centre for Neuroscience Research at Children’s Nationwide Healthcare facility. Haydar, a professor in the division of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Boston University School of Drugs, will be part of Children’s Nationwide on Sept. 1, 2020.

As Director of the Centre for Neuroscience Research, Haydar will oversee groups whose bench research informs medical efforts to prevent or treat neurological, developmental and behavioral problems that manifest throughout childhood but typically have their origin within just the womb.
