New Caney foster mother Michelle Hebert Young arrested and charged after 6-month-old baby suffers skull fracture

NEW CANEY, Texas (KTRK) — A foster mom in New Caney was arrested and billed with injury to a child with serious bodily injury following law enforcement reported a 6-month-previous child boy was located unresponsive with a cranium fracture in her home.

Roman Forrest Law enforcement claimed Michelle Hebert Youthful experienced been fostering the infant since his beginning, together with his 2-calendar year-old brother.

The law enforcement department’s Main Stephen Carlisle claimed Youthful named 911 to her house on Jan. 26.

The baby was taken to Kid’s Memorial Hermann Hospital where medical professionals reported he suffered from retinal hemorrhages in both eyes and bleeding on the mind, which are accidents reliable with abusive head trauma.

“They had been capable to provide a ton of evidence that’s regular with shaken newborn syndrome,” reported Carlisle.

Court information show the toddler underwent an MRI exam to establish the extent of the accidents.

“They are intense ample that it could lead to permanent problems,” claimed Carlisle.

The law enforcement chief explained Young gave quite a few different tales blaming the baby’s 2-12 months-old brother for the accidents.

She initially told 911 dispatchers the more mature brother threw a softball at the child. Then she explained to law enforcement he threw a mobile phone at the infant. She later adjusted her story all over again to say the child hit his head on a dresser.

“There were many stories. It begun out with some accidental stuff. A couple distinct variations of accidentally, but then eventually we have evidence to demonstrate usually,” stated Carlisle.

Medical professionals at Kid’s Memorial Hermann who handled the baby documented the injuries and noted the abuse.

Carlisle reported the baby was addressed and released from the medical center and is back in Boy or girl Protective Companies. He thinks the baby will be placed in a distinct foster home.

The baby’s brother was also taken out from Young’s property.

Law enforcement said her partner, who was out participating in poker at the time, is not below investigation.

Young is in the Montgomery County Jail with a bond established at $100,000.

A local spokesperson for the Department of Household Protecting Providers explained Thursday they could not reply to concerns about the brothers’ treatment.
