10 April 2022 – God’s Fullness In The Church – New Creation Church Sermon Notes – Pastor Lawrence Lim Sermon Notes

Matthew 16:13-18 – The word translates as “assembly” (church) is the Greek word “ekklesia” (meaning: called out ones)—the first time the word for church is used.
The church is powerful and on the offensive. The church is God’s house of miracles.

“Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.” (Matthew‬ ‭16:13-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 10:38 – The majority of miraculous works that Jesus did was healing.

“even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts‬ ‭10:38‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Psalm 91:13 – The church will tread upon all the powers of the enemy.

“You will tread on the lion and cobra. You will trample the young lion and the serpent underfoot.” (Psalms‬ ‭91:13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark 16:17-18 – The church is where miracles abound. God has ordained it to be such.

“These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” (Mark‬ ‭16:17-18‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 14:12-14 – Jesus prophesied that the church would do greater works than Him.

“Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father. Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.” (John‬ ‭14:12-14‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 Corinthians 1:23-24 – The Gospel is the power and wisdom of God.

“but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:23-24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Mark 11:24 – Believe in your heart and you will have it.

“Therefore I tell you, all things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them.” (Mark‬ ‭11:24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Luke 12:32 – It is Abba God’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom.

“Don’t be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.” (Luke‬ ‭12:32‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 5:14-15 – Even Peter’s shadow could heal the sick. Jesus foresaw that the church would do greater works than Him.

“More believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women. They even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on cots and mattresses, so that as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some of them.” (Acts‬ ‭5:14-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 19:11-12 – Paul did not even lay hands on the sick. The handkerchiefs were full of the anointing of God to heal those whom they touched.

“God worked special miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were carried away from his body to the sick, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out.” (Acts‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Haggai 2:9 – The glory of the latter house is greater than the former.

“‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahweh of Armies; ‘and in this place will I give peace,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”” (Haggai‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Amos 9:13-15 – In the restoration of the Tabernacle of David, we will see an acceleration with a huge harvest.
This prophecy is for our times where Israel is back in the land.
Israel is now flourishing. We will see this accelerated harvest first in the natural (Israel), then in the spiritual (the church) in the form of a huge harvest of souls.

““Behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the one treading grapes him who sows seed; and sweet wine will drip from the mountains, and flow from the hills. I will bring my people Israel back from captivity, and they will rebuild the ruined cities, and inhabit them; and they will plant vineyards, and drink wine from them. They shall also make gardens, and eat their fruit. I will plant them on their land, and they will no more be plucked up out of their land which I have given them,” says Yahweh your God.” (Amos‬ ‭9:13-15‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hosea 6:2 – Be ready for a huge end-time revival. We are also looking forward to the Rapture.

“After two days he will revive us. On the third day he will raise us up, and we will live before him.” (Hosea‬ ‭6:2‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

2 Peter 3:8 – Ever since Jesus died on the cross, two days have passed and we are in the third day.

“But don’t forget this one thing, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Ephesians 1:22-23 – Jesus is the head of the church. It is in the church that God’s fullness is expressed, revealed, and experienced.

“He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.” (Ephesians‬ ‭1:22-23‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

The church is not a building, but a gathering of the saints.

Matthew 18:20 – Two is the smallest plurality. Even when two believers are gathered in His name, Jesus is in the midst. Something good happens when we come together on His name.

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them.”” (Matthew‬ ‭18:20‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 24:6 – Russia has invaded Ukraine, but do not let your heart be troubled or afraid.

“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you aren’t troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.” (Matthew‬ ‭24:6‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews 10:23-25 – If there is any time that you see the Day approaching, it is now.
This specific instruction was given for the times we are living in.
Let go of past hurts and unhappiness, and just love.

“let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews‬ ‭10:23-25‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 13:34 – We do not love by our own strength, but by receiving Jesus’ love for us.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another.” (John‬ ‭13:34‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

1 John 4:19 – We love because Jesus first loved us.

“We love him, because he first loved us.” (1 John‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Romans 5:8 – God demonstrated His love for sinners through Jesus’ death at the cross.

“But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

John 15:13 – Jesus showed the greatest love by laying down His life for us.

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (John‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Hebrews 3:13 – Encourage/exhort each other daily.

“but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” (Hebrews‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Ephesians 2:10 – We are saved for good works.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.” (Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Acts 20:35 – The Dead Sea is dead because it only receives without giving. The Sea of Galilee receives and gives. Let us be givers.

“In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”” (Acts‬ ‭20:35‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Matthew 6:19-21 – Whatever you give as unto the Lord, you will be rewarded for.

““Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew‬ ‭6:19-21‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

For two years, we have been attending online services, and that is good, but that is not God’s best for us. Gathering physically as a church is God’s best. Come back and worship in God’s house when NCC in-person services officially resume on 24th April 2022.
