LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Willow Bend Elementary teacher Mariah Caskey is the ultimate 2021-2022 recipient of KCBD’s One particular Class At A Time $500 donation and recognition sponsored by Frontier Dodge and Spirit Chrysler.
“It’s very distinctive,” Caskey said. “It demonstrates me that what I’m performing it issues. It matters. It indicates a whole lot.”
Caskey is in her 2nd yr instructing Kindergarten at the Frenship ISD school.
“I grew up in a household of instructors,” Caskey mentioned. “My mom’s a teacher. My sister’s a teacher. Seriously, I consider it is just the effect, currently being able to affect so several lives. “They’re pretty real kiddos and they’ll convey to you like it is,” Caskey said. “They have so significantly creativeness and they are these types of big thinkers. We never usually imagine about that for younger young children. For me to be able to be close to that each working day and then see that each individual day is just, it’s astounding.”
The plan offers the trainer a likelihood to opt for a charity or nonprofit group that will receive $500. Caskey chose The Parenting Cottage.

The Parenting Cottage is also in the business of insuring literacy is part of the youthful families’ life.
“Everything we do is no cost so we really can use this money for our prenatal method,” Software Manager Sherry McDuff said. “Plus, we provide textbooks for our families and in the local community wherever we do tale moments out in the local community. Our goal is to invest in a guide for each household and fill their libraries with individuals guides.”
McDuff claimed they are appreciative of the selection by Ms. Caskey and are reassured knowing The Parenting Cottage name is spreading through the local community.
“We are a nonprofit and we stay and die by the help of the local community,” McDuff said. “We have a ton of persons and group resources offered for our people, for the reason that we’re section of United Way too. We just need that participation from the community to support us enable some others.”
The One Class at a Time program seeks make certain these charitable companies and lecturers have the sources they need to keep on to much better our group and young minds.
