Philadelphia man shot and killed after caring for his sick mother

A Philadelphia guy has died immediately after currently being shot in the head next a go to to acquire care of his sick mom, law enforcement say. 

The shooting that resulted in the demise of Jessie Bridges, 40, occurred all around 10:30 p.m. Sunday evening in North Philadelphia, in accordance to Philadelphia Law enforcement Chief Inspector Scott Compact. 

“This is a tragic tale simply because this 40-year-previous does not stay listed here,” Tiny explained to Fox29 Philadelphia.  

“He arrives right here and normally takes treatment of his mother who is sick, and he comes here on a common basis [to] take care of his mom,” Tiny added. “And he was just using care of his mother this night, when he remaining the property, was having into his automobile and that was when he was shot and killed.”

Compact mentioned Bridges – who was shot at minimum 1 time in the head – was “bleeding greatly” and laying on the street when law enforcement arrived, subsequent to the open driver side door of his vehicle. 

Initial responders rushed the male to a neighborhood healthcare facility in which he was pronounced useless. 

Little said a “large-caliber” semiautomatic weapon was employed in the killing and that two spent shell casings “ended up just a few ft absent from in which the sufferer was laying.

“That’s an indication that the shooter – or shooters – ended up standing incredibly close to this victim when the shots were being fired,” he additional.
