ITV Corrie fans’ health fears for Faye Windass following devastating baby news

Fans saw upsetting scenes on Coronation Street as a pale Faye Windass emerged from the bathroom and told her friend Emma Brooker she feared she was losing her baby. At the hospital Faye and her partner Craig Tinker waited for the scan results but were shocked by what they were told.

Last month Faye revealed that she was pregnant. And she was worried that the timing was awful as she and policeman Craig had been at loggerheads.

Faye, played by Ellie Leach, had been covering up the death of a pensioner called Ted who she had accidentally run down on New Year’s Day. And Craig had quit the police after being roped into her dark secret with best friend Emma Brooker, who ended up falling for Ted’s grandson Jon Spear.

As flatmate Emma despaired over possibly losing her soulmate Jon after he found out the truth about his granddad’s death, Faye rushed to the bathroom. And when she emerged she told Emma she was bleeding and asked her to call Craig.

As the couple went for a scan and the sonographer disappeared to get some advice, fans wondered if she could be having twins or quads like Gemma Winter. But they were thunderstruck when Faye was told there was no baby, and not only that she had never been pregnant.

Viewers are worried about Faye

“I did a pregnancy test it was positive,” she said. But the sonographer told her it was a ‘false postive’ and explained: “Modern tests are very reliable but they can show a false positive.”

Faye explained she hadn’t had regular periods for a while and had put it down to stress. And the sonographer told her to get checked out by her doctor.

The scenes led Coronation Street fans to worry about Faye’s health.@TheRadioFanatic remarked on Twitter: “So she ain’t pregnant. But something is clearly wrong.”

@GeorgiaBowring asked: “So are Corrie going down the cancer route again with Faye?” And a worried @antenatalscan predicted: “Cancer poor Faye.”

Next week Faye is still determined to become a mum. After their setback she shows Craig a fertility app she’s downloaded to her phone. But she receives some bad news.

Craig confides in his mum Beth that Faye wants to start a family. But he admits he feels it’s too soon and hasn’t the heart to tell her. Unable to hold her tongue, Beth tells Faye that Craig isn’t ready for a baby and Faye is shocked.
