FCC Awards Children’s National Hospital $928K to Create Regional Pediatric Telehealth Consortium in Response to COVID-19

WASHINGTON – Children’s National Hospital is establishing a regional pediatric telehealth consortium in reaction to coronavirus with $928,000 in funding awarded by the Federal Communications Commission’s Wireline Level of competition Bureau. The funding, which is element of the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Application, allows the nationally-rated pediatric medical center to increase its telehealth platform to assist 15 health care web-sites in the location serving little ones and younger grownups, supplying care to little ones with COVID-19 as perfectly as all those who are medically susceptible and supporting to guard health care personnel as the pandemic risk carries on.

The FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Application was authorized by the CARES Act and to day has permitted funding for 132 health care providers in 33 states, in addition Washington D.C., for a total of just over $fifty million in funding.
