Children’s Nationwide Clinic has named Diego Preciado, M.D., Ph.D., as its new main of the Division of Otolaryngology. Dr. Preciado joined Children’s National in 2006 in which he has practiced for the earlier 16 yrs.
“It is the privilege of a lifetime for me to be in a position to carry on my support to Children’s Countrywide in this management part,” mentioned Dr. Preciado. “Every otolaryngologist in the planet is aware of the remarkable work and custom of excellence set up by my predecessor Dr. George Zalzal. I will function with the surgeon-in-chief to speed up our mission by engaging our numerous and loyal school to become the global chief for complex pediatric otolaryngology care, study, schooling and advocacy.”
Dr. Preciado is a professor with tenure of Surgical procedure and Pediatrics, Genomics and Precision Drugs at Children’s Countrywide and George Washington University. He retains the Joseph E. Robert Endowed Chair in Pediatric Otolaryngology, has served as the vice main of the Division of Otolaryngology for the past 7 many years, and the program director of the ACGME accredited Pediatric Otolaryngology fellowship given that 2009. His medical practice interests are primarily centered on pediatric airway reconstruction, childhood listening to loss/cochlear implants and velopharyngeal insufficiency.
Dr. Preciado’s translational exploration lab has been funded around the yrs via several awards which include R01, U01 and R21 National Institutes of Health and fitness grants. He has authored around 130 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 20 ebook chapters, and has been an invited speaker regionally, nationally and internationally. In 2020, he been given the Robert Ruben Scientific Accomplishment Award from the Culture for Ear Nose and Throat Advancements in Small children.
He served as previous president of the American Modern society of Pediatric Otolaryngology (2020-2021) and presently serves as president of the Global Culture for Otitis Media (2019-2023). He is a senior examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgical procedures in which he also serves on the Complex Pediatric Otolaryngology Steering Committee.
